Kids Events

In addition to sanctioned and permitted USA cycling adult events, there may also be one or two kids races held  in between the adult events. Typically, there is a short lap or drag race for the 3-8 year old group, and then one or more full laps on the course for the 9-16 year old kids. Groups and race lengths are usually determined by participation with an age-appropriate course distance selected.

Kids races are generally free but do require a signed waiver release for insurance purposes. Any bike is suitable; helmets are required for participation. The promoter provides a number plate for each bicycle.

With a grass course closed to traffic, these events are a safe way to introduce children to competitive cycling.
